Virtual Network Switch
You all must have done and created VM’s during your RHCE Training using KVM or XEN (if you had done your training on RHEL 5).
Ever noticed that whenever you start the libvirt and start creating VM’s, the libvirt create a virtual network switch – virbr0.
Time to understand what is its purpose.
It is a software construct that operates on a host server, to which virtual machines (guests) connect. The network traffic for a guest is directed through this switch. Linux host servers represent a virtual network switch as a network interface.
By default, virtual network switches operate in NAT mode.
