Inodes in Linux

GEEKS !!

Remember that df command that you have used umpteen times during your Red Hat Training.

In case you want to check out the number of used and free inodes available on a file system.

You can use df command.

Just use it with -i switch. Like – df -i /dev/sda6

It will show you the total inodes, free inodes and used inodes.

To cross check that its actually showing the correct information. I had created a blank file after the first output and it changes the value of inodes free. As anticipated.
