Check Memory using Free

You always use the free command to check the RAM and SWAP status in your machine.

Giving free will just give you the information about RAM and SWAP status in KB. Which sometimes might be not so handy to read.

You can use “free -mto” for a much human readable form of output.

The option – m: display numbers in MB and option t: display Total memory including RAM and SWAP and option o: hides that buffer/cache line.

Here is a output from my machine.
